The Importance of Backing Up Outlook Express
Every day thousands of email messages are created as part of a company’s business operations. In 1999 alone Americans sent and received over 6.8 trillion email messages – approximately 2.2 billion messages each day – compared with 293 million pieces of first class mail.
i Furthermore, the average office worker will send and receive between 60 and 200 email messages each day.ii Because email has become such an important part of daily life, the need to protect critical email information has become a necessity. Enveloc® Remote Backup is designed to protect critical email information contained within Microsoft’s Outlook Express.

Why backup Outlook Express?
As computer technology has advanced and people have become accustomed to using email, the importance and complexity of email has evolved from a few simple text messages into a multitude of mission-critical documents.
iii Businesses and individuals regularly send and receive negotiations, bids, proposals, contracts, legal agreements, and many other forms of vital correspondence via email.

If a computer user were to suffer the loss of his vital email correspondence, this loss would seriously affect his ability to perform normal business functions. The loss of email data in Outlook Express can occur through a variety of ways such as a computer virus, a hard drive crash, a power surge, and a host of other reasons. If the user is unable to recover his email data in Outlook Express, then the user may have to spend many hours and days reconstructing his email correspondence from memory.

A good backup of the Outlook Express information would enable the user to quickly and accurately restore his vital email data. Instead of spending hours and days recovering email correspondence, a quality backup allows the email user to be back in business in a matter of minutes.

Are there other backup programs that protect Outlook Express?
Microsoft has designed an internal facility within Outlook Express that allows a user to make an archive copy of his Outlook Express folders. The Outlook Express user can then put this archive copy on a disk or other removable device. The removable device must then be carried to a remote location to ensure data security in the event of a fire or natural disaster.

In addition there are other backup systems on the market today that promote themselves as Outlook Express backup products. These backup programs create a compressed Outlook Express backup file that must be copied to either the local hard drive or a removable device. Again, the user must then carry the removable device to a secure, offsite location to guard against data loss in the event of fire, theft, and/or natural disaster.

How Enveloc® Backs up Outlook Express
Enveloc® can backup Outlook Express in 2 different ways. The standard method is to simply close Outlook Express before leaving the computer, and Enveloc® will automatically backup any new or changed mailboxes . The other method is to manually create the archive file and let Eneveloc back that up. In this manner, Outlook Express can always be left on.

Why Enveloc® Backs up Outlook Express
Enveloc® offers the safest, most efficient means of data backup to Outlook Express customers. First of all, the Enveloc® customer does not have to remember to initiate his backup. Upon installation of Enveloc®, the customer will set his preferred time, and then the Enveloc® system will automatically backup at that time every day or night. In addition to being automatic, Enveloc®’s Outlook Express backup system is remote. Enveloc®’s system is designed to automatically backup critical Outlook Express information to multiple, secure, offsite locations. Enveloc®’s server facilities are professionally managed, and they are monitored 24 hours per day 7 days per week. With Enveloc®, the user’s Outlook Express information is absolutely protected against any type of data loss.

Furthermore, Enveloc® Remote Backup ensures data security by encrypting the Outlook Express data using 168-bit Triple DES encryption. Also, the Enveloc® customer uses a private 24-48-character password to secure his data. Enveloc® personnel never know the customer’s password. In addition the customer must input this password to gain access to his Outlook Express data.

Enveloc® also enables the Outlook Express customer to quickly recover his vital email information. Enveloc®’s system features a user restore facility that allows an Enveloc® customer to restore his own Outlook Express files. In addition Enveloc®’s technical support is available on a 24/7 basis to lend assistance to a customer who needs to recover information.
