Why is my backup taking so long to finish?

There are many factors that affect how long it takes to create, encrypt/compress, and transmit a backup. The two most important factors are your upload speed and the size of the backup itself.

Upload speeds are commonly asynchronous, that is your download speed doesn't match your upload speed. In many cases, the rate at which backups can be transmitted to us is much slower than your ability to download files, browse the web, etc- therefore taking longer to send larger files.

Any communication interruptions or use of the stop-backup time setting will further delay the process. Strict backup selections help to minimize creation and transmission times for backup sets.

Business clients may send their initial backup on hard drive to Enveloc. For more information, or to request a drive, click here.
